Roxanne Dunbar-Ortiz: Lies Liberals Tell Themselves About the Second Amendment

The author of “Loaded: A Disarming History of the Second Amendment” joins Robert Scheer to discuss the deep-seated denial about the colonial ideology undergirding gun rights in the U.S. and how it has hampered the left’s approach to arms control.  Listen to the full discussion, which first aired on KCRW in 2019,  here.

Benjamin Madley: The California Genocide No One Talks About

UCLA history professor Benjamin Madley joins the “Scheer Intelligence” host to talk about his An American Genocide: The United States and the California Catastrophe 1846-1873  which details the killing of tens of thousands of Native Americans as the state was being settled in the 19th century. 1. All empire building, all colonialism and all wars are founded on the need for power: but power is ultimately an illusion. Humanity will finally realize that when its governments start WW3, unless that truth can be accepted before hand – by all.

  2. The whole history of the new world and the indigenous peoples is very sad. I don’t say that I’m tired of hearing it, but I fully know and understand the history and it makes me almost cry every time I heard it.
And I don’t mean to shut anybody up when they talk about it, and I think that millions of us are very sad about a past that we had nothing to with . I even hated racialism when I was a child. so any many of us will never forget . Even if we aren’t reminded!!!

  3. A fourth, and effective antidote ….. Turn them off.

Have your own ceremony of giving thanks. Cook a good meal. You can do all of this with your screens turned off and not listening a bit to the national myth of “we came, we lied, we stole.”

Have a happy day, and enjoy the silence after you’ve turned them all off.
