I can attest to this statement: my rich friends are freaking out—both about his threat to their way of life and, for many, what they call his “anti-Semitic” views. That’s their opinion, not mine. I couldn’t respond to them because their delusion is so deep it’s almost impossible to fathom.

Like Andrew Cuomo, a burnt-out retread would have done anything—but I imagine that’s the point. In one group chat, people were reminiscing about the “good old days” when Bill Clinton was in office. Bob will have a podcast on that this week, so stay tuned.

Needless to say, change is necessary. I was reading some leftists today who have taken issue with the new mayor because, like Sanders and AOC, he has to work within the confines of a corrupt two-party system that churns out the same old, same old and perpetuates the war machine. Enjoy this video.

To make the case that the rich may not flee the city they call home, check out this other Jacobin article discussing their “tax the rich” plan and how it helped,

Jacobin stating “November 2025 marks the three-year anniversary of Massachusetts voters approving a 4 percent surtax on annual incomes above $1 million. What this means is that if you live in Massachusetts, you pay 5 percent of your annual income up to $1 million. If you make any more than that, you pay 9 percent on income above a $1 million.” Read that article here
