The FBI, which has been used as an investigative arm of presidents, may not be as brazen as Trump loyalist and FBI Director Kash Patel.
However, today’s reports indicate that Trump is contemplating removing Patel from his position in the coming months, as cited by MS NOW.
The other part of this story has the FBI investigating six Democrats who Trump has branded as “traitors.” It looks like a loyalist desperately clinging to his role while attempting to curry favor with Trump.
This situation arose following the release of a video last week featuring six lawmakers, all of whom have military or intelligence backgrounds. In the video, they reminded service members of their oath to the Constitution and their legal obligation to disobey unlawful orders.
Separately, the Pentagon is investigating Senator Mark Kelly from Arizona for potential military violations, and according to new sources, recall him to active service within the Navy to be prosecuted for “seditious behavior.”
The Justice Department and FBI declined to comment.
Sen. Elissa Slotkin of Michigan, reported by CBS News, called it a “scare tactic” and continued “To be honest, the president’s reaction and the use of the FBI against us is exactly why we made the video,”
with the senator continuing, “He believes in using the federal government against his perceived adversaries, and he’s not afraid to use the arms of the government against people he disagrees with. He does not believe the law applies to him … which is exactly why we made the video, to give people some assurance that they weren’t alone as they watch this stuff unfold.”
While it is essential to report on this story, it is worth noting that all six congressmen involved have connections to the military-industrial complex, which has historically been implicated in efforts to silence critics. Additionally, it is important to acknowledge that the FBI has often been wielded as a tool by various presidents throughout history.
