Thus, this plaintive but necessary appeal from me, Robert Scheer, a lifelong journalist and now publisher of ScheerPost, of which my wife Narda Zacchino, a 36-year veteran and masthead editor of the Los Angeles Times and San Francisco Chronicle, is editor-in-chief. Neither of us takes a salary. ScheerPost is a way for both of us to mentor a new generation of young journalists to carry the free press torch we have spent our entire adult lives carrying.
