On July 1, trade officials from the U.S., Mexico and Canada will be meeting to consider changes to the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) — also known as NAFTA 2.0 — the largest and most consequential trade policy of either Trump’s terms in office.
The Trump administration and others are pushing a rigged trade agenda that puts the interests of billionaires and corporations ahead of working people, family farmers and the environment in North America and beyond.
In response, people are coming together across borders and across issue areas to say “Enough!”
In May and June 2026, activists and civil society organizations in the U.S., Canada and Mexico will be mobilizing in “Days of Solidarity” that:
—Demand that governments prioritize the needs of people and communities ahead of the power and profits of greedy corporations;
—Reject attempts to pit working people in the U.S., Mexico and Canada against one another in an ongoing race-to-the-bottom; &
—Demonstrate that communities across North America have shared interests, including good-paying jobs, a healthy environment, sovereignty and more.
Any new trade deal or other government initiative between our countries must prioritize the needs of people and the planet — not billionaires and corporations — respecting national sovereignty and each country’s regulatory autonomy.
