  1. No one person, no matter how great, can rescue us from ourselves. Organize, strike, rebel, revolt and disrupt before it is too late, even for Superman.

  2. Great piece from Mr. Fish. Unfortunately we are TOAST. False hope aside, we’ve got less than five years.

    1. John R,

I believed we had less than 5 years when John F. Kennedy was assassinated on live television in Dallas, Texas, with more than a half-dozen federally-elected Republicans in town.

I believed we had less than 5 years when Richard Nixon authorized intelligence agencies to break into both the Democratic Party headquarters, and the office of the psychoanalyst for Daniel Ellsburg.

I believed we had less than 5 years when Jimmy Carter was caught taking a $10 million pay-off from the Bank of Commerce and Credit International, notorious for financing terrorists and drug cartels.

I believed we had less than 5 years when Reagan/Bush used acoustic audio devices to torture innocent men, women, and children in Panama City after an invasion that violated international law.

I believed we had less than 5 years when Clinton/Reno burned to death dozens of unarmed innocent women and children in an underground bunker in Waco, Texas.

I believed we had less than 5 years when it was proven that Bush/Cheney/Rice/Rumsfeld had manipulated our nation into an unjustified war based upon phony intelligence about Weapons of Mass Destruction.

I believed we had less than 5 years when Obama/U.S. Congress decided to make it legal for our own government to propagandize the American people in the name of the “War on Terror.”

I believed we had less than 5 years when a majority of the electoral college decided to allow a proven philanderer with a record of bragging about his misogynistic exploitation of women, to occupy the White House.

Calm down. Relax. Take a breath. Count to ten.

The world is a dangerous place. The U.S. Government is a dangerous thing. Get over your fear.

“Oh, life is bigger, it’s bigger than you…” -R.E.M.

      1. None of those things compare to the threats of nuclear war, climate change and environmental destruction that may lead one to believe we have less than 5 years. The effects of climate change increase exponentially, and this year is already off to a crazy start. The chaos created by climate change will make nuclear war more likely. It’s not unrealistic to think that society, our species or even all life on earth will perish in the next 5 years.
        Things are different this time.

  3. Those charred cape fragments wafting skyward & that ‘PRESS’ pass permanently jammed in the hatband … take Mr. Fish’s ingenious illustration into breathtaking cartoon territory!

A powerful , lighting -like , lashing shot into the net, as if Ronaldo Cristiano could draw like that.

-J.Joslin ( Detroit, Michigan near Canadian border)

  4. First became aware of Mr. Fish while reading Truthdig.

If a picture is worth a thousand words…….its Mr. fish !

  5. Marvel-lous (pardon the pun) philosophy Mr Fish.
BTW, I don’t think Superman’s cape is flammable.
I’ve seen him fly through some pretty hot looking flames😖

  6. Those who rule have successfully created an entire society of trained victims utterly incapable of defending themselves or resisting in any way. Critical thought has been replaced with group think and propaganda, and values and morals have been replaced with greed and the cult of me. This will not have a happy ending.
