Donald Earl Collins Pandemic

America’s High Covid Death Toll Is a Result of Capitalist Austerity Policies

The Biden administration is continuing them and has declared an end to the pandemic when it still exists.

The United States has all but declared the COVID-19 pandemic over and done with. The US Centers for Disease Control (CDC) advised 230 million Americans, 70 percent of the population, to no longer wear masks in most cases, including indoors

Cities, counties, and states across the US have lifted their mask mandates.

Restaurants, shopping malls, movie theatres, and grocery stores have dropped mask and physical distancing requirements. Even school districts have gone mask-optional since the end of February. This is despite more than 55,000 Americans contracting the disease and nearly 2,000 dying from it and the complications it causes every day through early March.

As the US approaches one million dead from COVID and 80 million sickened from this pathogen and its variants, it is clear that whiteness, capitalism, and narcissism have prolonged the pandemic, and horribly so. Two years ago, I predicted that the US as a “failing state ” would do the bare minimum to protect ordinary people, and would sell the idea that despite the evidence, Americans can lead “normal lives” in the middle of a pandemic. “America’s lack of leadership at home and abroad during this pandemic has been stunning. But its populace’s denial of these facts is simply gobsmacking,” I wrote in April 2020. Two years later, this continued lack of leadership is America’s dystopian normal.

Forget about federal-level mandates to mask up and to jab up on vaccines. Forget about continued support for families living with poverty and unemployment in the middle of yo-yo openings and closings with each surge of COVID-19. And forget about easing the pain of healthcare debt, student loan debt, and rental debt millions have accumulated during the past two-plus years. The business of the US is always in support of corporations and profit first.

That is why President Joe Biden – and President Donald Trump before him – never declared the pandemic a national security threat or federalised the public health crisis COVID-19 undoubtedly became. They both have been too beholden to corporations to take this step. The result has been 25 months of “me first” responses to the pandemic. There have been endless protests against local and state-level mask mandates and endless videos of white Americans violating such mandates. Nearly 80 million Americans have yet to get a single vaccine jab – including my own mother – because they “don’t know what’s in this stuff”. Despite the obvious need for community collaboration to protect everyone from COVID-19 death and its long-haul complications, the fundamental belief in individualism is stronger than ever. If American individualism in this pandemic isn’t prime evidence of the US as a narcissistic nation, then nothing is.

What’s worse is this narcissism is killing people, especially white Americans, and needlessly so. All because they believed the media reports of highly disproportionate COVID-19 sickness and death among Black and Brown Americans in early 2020. As the author Johnathan Metzl wrote in his Dying of Whiteness, “When politics demands that people resist available health care,” among other spiteful decisions, “these politics are literally asking people to die for their whiteness.” When combined with narcissism, white Americans, in particular, have acted in privileged ways towards the pandemic, ways that have killed tens of thousands and have sickened millions in the process.

Pfizer and Moderna and other Big Pharma companies in the US and in Europe have refused to freely share their vaccine recipes with the rest of the world. But sure, let Americans complain about new variants when the US, the European Union, and the United Nations’s WHO have not done nearly enough to inoculate the world against the virus and its future possible variants. Biden asked everyone watching his recent State of the Union address to celebrate how the US, out of its own goodness, had “sent 475 million vaccine doses to 112 countries, more than any other nation” during the previous year. Keep in mind, the world’s human population is at 7.9 billion. We would need between 16 and 24 billion jabs to inoculate the entire world against COVID-19 and its variants as of today – current figures show about 10 billion jabs worldwide, mostly in the world’s richest nations. Another statement of hubris and needless navel-gazing.

The US is barely two months removed from the height of the Omicron surge, when a million people contracted the variant in just one day. Yet President Biden, through his State of the Union speech, declared a return to the pre-pandemic normal. “It’s time for Americans to get back to work and fill our great downtowns again,” Biden said. “Our schools are open. Let’s keep it that way. Our kids need to be in school,” he said.

Despite his comment, “we will never just accept living with COVID-19,” Biden and the rest of the US have completely contradicted this sentiment. It completely reflects the US as a whole, where there was never a full, nationwide shutdown of activities with federal mandates to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in 2020. It is a near-total capitulation to the wealthy and corporate, who have kept their fingers crossed that a vaccines-or-bust strategy would effectively end COVID-19 in the US. It is a ho-hum response to what the US has always been: A country of greedy capitalists who want a return to the racist, ableist, and narcissistic conditions that made the COVID-19 pandemic possible in the first place. They won’t even give us time to mourn our losses.

The past 29 months of COVID worldwide are a reflection of profit over people, and rich and white people over everyone else. The past 25 months of COVID-19 in the US indicate exactly the same, except minus the shock and massive protests of people expecting better from their government. Instead, the racism of whiteness and narcissism and capitalism will subject more in the US and worldwide to needless death and disability, and continue to turn the US into a failing nation-state. It makes the early predictions of only “240,000 dead” by the start of 2022 an absurd lie, a macabre and laughable shame.

  1. It’s not about capitalist policy. That’s leftist nonsense. It’s about debt and the lack of resources that are unavailable because of over-leveraged debt.

  2. Oh? This is it? Quoting this bloke — “They (Trump-Biden) both have been too beholden to corporations to take this step.”

These are criminals, and you know it. Biden? Fifty years of criminality in politics. Biden the Man from Delaware, the tax haven for more criminals. It’s not even worth attempting to drill down on this guy’s story.

Then, Trump? Oh, another sort of criminal, but the Bidens and Clintons and Obamas and Buses and Trump use the same accountants, CPAs, banks, financial advisor, stock aggregators, et al.

Now, I wonder what is wrong with USA on so many levels — and I am not messing with this guy’s Covid overcount-undercount thesis. Imagine, the USA, lockstep, not wondering what USA and DoD and DARPA and Big Med was doing in Ukraine with, oh, biolabs. Again, this country is more than a failed state (I’m talking USA for the moment).

We want the UkiNazi’s to utilize Molotov incindary bombs, you know, flesh eating, baby killing, adult maiming bombs, for Russians, but whew, nothing of the sort for Fauci, CDC, Big Pharma, Big Med, Big Military, Big Finance, Big Real Estate, Big Banks, Big AI, Big Surveillance Capitalism, Big Prison, Big Ed, Big Oil, Bid Mining, Big Chem, Big Ag.

Because if you really drill down and look at the multiple chronic illnesses, the obesity, the plastic and Round-up and PFAS and a hundre plus more hormone distruptors and carcinogens in the body public’s body, well, shoot, we’d really be learning the Molotov Rachel Maddow Cocktail Shuffle. Lead in water, housing stock sagging, old people with prescription prices out the leaky roof. We have in K12, one school counselor for 600 kiddos. Oh, the evil this country weaves into its Capitalist Quiltwork. Oh, the evil of more of taxpayer funded (not in my effing name) arms, drones, exploding missiles, Patriot Missile Batteries, jets and 20 million rounds of bullets thrown to this UkiZekComedy (not in my name) shit show.

Oh, the media coverage of, well, name the topic_________________________________________. Put in the top 1000 social studies subjects/Current events and I betcha, you will find almost no real deep journalism and debate arena for, well, a 1000 topics, but somehow we have to follow the “science” reporting (sic) on Fauci and Walensky and Company and believe THAT SARS-CoV2 narrative?

    Good luck with this piece

  3. “Whiteness, capitalism, and narcissism have prolonged the pandemic”
” ….narcissism is killing people, especially white Americans, and needlessly so.”
“There have been endless protests against local and state-level mask mandates and endless videos of white Americans violating such mandates.
“Nearly 80 million Americans have yet to get a single vaccine jab – including my own mother – because they ‘don’t know what’s in this stuff’ ”

Forgive me for being a bit confused – whiteness has prolonged the pandemic, narcissism has prolonged the pandemic – but narcissism is killing especially white Americans …. hmmm, this being so, one would think that perhaps a few more pandemics might be just the cure for ridding ourselves of white people …

“There have been endless protests against local and state-level mask mandates and endless videos of white Americans violating such mandates.”
You forgot to mention the vaccine mandates – how many have violated them – including your mother? Is she white?

Sorry man, this is a very disjointed post – makes no sense – just what are you pissed off about?
I agree that both Admin in charge have screwed up royally, that capitalism, or more to the point, greed, by the PTB and narcissism by a whole lot of the rest of us who refused masks and vaccines are responsible …. but whiteness?

  4. The title of the article had great promise, but the content failed to live up to it. Vaccines are troubling and an economic system that couldn’t shut down and stay down for an adequate time made for the conditions to be ripe for a pandemic. Austerity? Neo-liberal capitalism? First, a health care system that is running for profit and therefore efficency determined by profits and which sees safe backup as unnecessary surplus. Treatments that are dictated by Pharma and failing to fund or support less profitable treatments, insurance companies, and profits. Vaccines as the ‘cheap’ way out because it gives a sense of protection (and huge profits for Pharm and who knows what health damage in the long haul). Second, no promise that no citizen will lose their housing, their medical care, their jobs, ability to buy food and the kinds of things that can make ‘shut-downs’ happy and healthy. Third, related to the way to pass time, widely available accurate, free testing that would assure people were uninfected for the next 12 hours could allow social functions. Finally, sick leave once work starts back up, a bailout for people and small business, and most of all, government action, news and analysis of the pandemic that was honest and balance, i.e., not catering to advertisers and donors and corporate profits). $3 trillion went to the corporations. That could have assured all of the above costs. If that is too difficult for their business models and they want out, fine, and we can nationalize whatever is abandoned and produce what will make up for the tax losses. Good riddance m-fers.

  5. Did you know that whiteness has been determined as a cause of climate change? Warning from the Surgeon General: Whiteness Can Be Hazardous to Your Health. What whitewashed nonsense are we in store for now in the new abnormal, where wide woke fools and cult covidians following the science of social engineering are not only still falling for the scamdemic but actively promoting fascist police state oppression in the name of justice?

Btw, one of the reasons we get what crocodile-tears solicitude for ‘people of color’ we do from public health authorities is due to large percentages of color-coded class companions, even disproportionally so as predictably stressed in identity politics, who won’t comply with the jab as laid down here by this intellectual thuggery. That’s why, for instance, there’s been attention selectively devoted by manufacturers of consent to such ‘past’ and ‘exceptional’ cases of eugenics as Tuskegee, just to assuage any memory and thus legitimate fear for these genetically modifying kill shots now being dispensed for our welfare, always the alibi of tyrants as Camus said. Meanwhile, the Orwellian left keeps dutifully promoting more liberal distribution of these poisons to poor and oppressed peoples of the global south so-called, with no clue whatsoever as to how this merely extends the genocide already underway with lockdown of the global economy falling most heavily upon racially colonized zones from starvation to suicide.

More could be said, like another rehearsal of real versus pseudo science throughout the plandemic psyop, but what’s the point? Shame on Scheerpost for continuing to promote sheer propaganda, including its most absurdly obscene expressions.

    1. plandemic psyop???

      Calling Alex Jones.

White snowflake screeching and QAnon conspiracy bilge.
The vaccines work, and don’t alter your genes or magnetize your body.
The west hoards them and denies them to vast swaths of poor and oppressed non-white people, that’s the crime here.

China has been successful because it does not allow this kind of looney nonsense to spread.

  6. Yes, the vaccine distribution system is corrupt. Yes, the vaccines are not as safe and effective as they could be. Yes, medical apartheid has made black and brown people suspicious of the medical establishment. Yes to all that. But, the vaccines are effective at reducing the severity and mortality of the COVID virus. And, the government and society as a whole have been negligent to the point of criminality is their mismanagement of the pandemic. It breaks my heart. It makes me sick. It pisses me off!

    1. There’s no ‘but’.

About the only things the likewise corrupt trials for these Pharmafia products claimed to relieve are some symptoms of the common cold, if even that among all the adverse effects they’re causing, including unprecedented death counts.

What should also be taken into account is how these poisons aren’t vaccines by any previous standard, but mRNA genetic engineering being rolled out among human lab rats, now being implemented as treatment for other illnesses, as with the renewed war on cancer declared last state-of-the-union programming from our great leader.

And as one final note here on the total corruption of the scamdemic, though the examples are virtually endless, there never has been any valid scientific demonstration that the said virus, SARS-CoV-2, and thus the said disease, COVID-19(84), exist.

Your lament is misplaced. There’s no crapitalist mismanagement as the usual cover story, especially among professional class critics on the ‘left’, propagandizes, but all too chilling management of killing trains taking us into the final solution.

      1. To Niko,
I agree, which is why I say AI is right up there as an existential threat to our existence …

  7. Sigh. I can’t even get there. So much conflicting information.
I am a 62 year old female. When Covid broke out the first time my husband and I did the masking, rubbing alcohol mail and groceries, took the shot. One month later the second shot. 6 months later the third shot.
Got the shot at 3pm. By 6pm was in bed couldn’t get warm running a fever all that night into the next

    1. I wasn’t done!
Into the next night and day.
When I finally got up the top of my arm was swelled and looked malformed and sore as hell.
I told my husband right then and there I will be taking no more shots, washing down no more mail or groceries and if I find anybody with the omicron Covid I am going to visit them and bring things to drink and eat in hopes of catching it.
I would rather acquire the natural immunity that the omicron seems to give then one more dose of phizer ANYTHING.

      1. Natural immunity requires infection – infection risks long Covid, at a minimum – worse than a sore arm …

      2. Yes, part of the purpose of info war is to confuse issues and people, obstructing clarity of thought and action, like resistance to the lies. Fwiw, I think you’d be at greater risk listening to anyone telling you these shots risk little more than a sore arm (somehow preferable to covid-19, or the false flag flu, which even with the rigged data shows a 99.9+% fatality rate). These shots are unprecedented in terms of the harms they’re causing. You may want to consult alternative, naturopathic sources for info on trying to detoxify from them.

  8. so what do we do about it? it seems like there are actually quite of few of us who see through brainwashing and know what’s really going on. why don’t we do something about it? at the very least, why don’t we start thinking about what to do about it? enough of us know what the problems are. now we need solutions. obviously voting isn’t gonna cut it. protesting doesn’t do anything anymore. we need new tactics. we need a new strategy. and we need to work together. despite our differences we still have way more in common with each other than we do with the power elite. any suggestions? 🙂

    1. To Jarret,
” …. voting ain’t gonna cut it” – true, as long as we keep voting for duopoly candidates ..

  9. drivel written by a moron…the most vaccine resistant in USA are Ph.D’s and blacks….narcissism has little relevance, stupidity does….the fake stats explain little. covid w 99.7% recovery is. a social experiment; the ruling class merely confirmed the submissiveness fear and stupidity of many peasants, eager to accept govt nanny state tyranny….some nations with universal health care and superior health outcomes generally have more covid deaths attributed per capita….reality is ignored. americans smoke tobacco far less than Europeans, Asians, etc; G Segura demonstrates that tobacco consumption reduces risk of covid. americans, amongst the most obese on earth can thank their poor immunity to illness–CDC claims 78% covid deaths attributed to obesity….there is no real vaccine. German insurance CEO recently terminated for admitting that 3 million vaccinated Germans suffers from illnesses due to Pfizer astra Zeneca, modern vaccines

  10. This is because of capitalism and corporate greed. It affects people of all colors. But you found an excuse for a tiresome, racist rant against Whitey. This cracker won’t be reading any more of your posts, Mr. Collins.

  11. This says it all and says it well. A sad and pathetic reflection of a nation that refuses to accept its fundamental flaws.

  12. Solid piece. Thanks for the perspective. But thereʻs more.

When COVID hit the fan in early 2021 I found out what it feels like to be considered. expendable. I wrote a protest letter regarding vaccination priorities to the Portland Oregonian. Here is what they declined to publish:

“I find it incomprehensible that Governor Brown has prioritized veterinary and dental workers, acupuncturists, massage therapists and chiropractors over seniors. However, the precedence given to teachers and school personnel is especially troubling. As a retired high school teacher of 32 years, I know that children learn far more from what we do than what we say. Of those who die from COVID, 76% are seniors over 70. Students know this, of course. Our students have just been taught that the lives of seniors are less important than their educational needs, as well as the needs of naturopaths, massage therapists, acupuncturists, dental and veterinary workers.

“When the virus hit last spring, the governor of Texas declared that seniors should be willing to sacrifice themselves and continue shopping, just to keep the economy open. Oregon is beginning to feel a lot like Texas.”

On the national level we are governed by neocons eager to start proxy wars and on the local level by neolibs who prioritize the economy over peoplesʻ lives.

    1. Children in California live with seniors. Schools were closed not to protect chlldren and teachers as much as to try to slow transmission.

  13. Solid piece. Thanks for the perspective. But thereʻs more.

  14. COVID-19 deaths have been exaggerated. People who died WITH the disease are counted as dying FROM the disease. This is indisputable, government officials have admitted to this in public. This is not to say that a lot of people didn’t die from COVID-19, but just like the efficacy of the vaccines, the severity of the disease was greatly exaggerated. Be careful about throwing COVID-19 statistics around; do some real research first and don’t believe anything that the government or the pharmaceutical industry says.

  15. Hello Moderator,

Since there’s no reply option to yours above, just some words here regarding your (rhetorical?) question about “what killed all those people” (which I assume has to do with the so-called covid pandemic, rather than the so-called vaccines which are killing people at unprecendented rates, already far beyond cumulative totals from these poisons over the past 30+years as registered with VAERS, determined to account for only 1% of adverse events from injections, thus vastly downplaying severity and magnitude).

What appears in most cases to have led to death are other causes which remain suppressed, given how autopsies and investigation into deaths was largely suspended by overriding CDC directives (and government financial incentives for all things covid) for classifying deaths of patients diagnosed with covid as having died from covid (as Jeff notes above). Long after this corruption of data did its work to inflate mortality, the CDC acknowledged out of the panic propaganda spotlight that, even at its undercounted figures, the great majority of deaths attributed to covid included comorbitities (more likely as much of 94% of cases). This correlates with the fact that the majority of deaths (for a ‘dread’ disease with a 99.9+% survival rate) were elderly patients, though besides their comorbidities it should be noted that such lethal treatments like remdesivir and ventilators contributed to what presents itself, especially in NY under Cuomo and California under Newsom, as a policy of euthanasia.

This corruption of data, however, also rests on the corrupt misuse of the RT-PCR test, designed for manufacturing microbial matter and not diagnosing disease (as inventor Kary Mullis stipulated), thus producing false positives up to 100%. Meaning that the illusion of a deadly virus, never determined to exist outside digitally simulated models themselves resting on corrupt experimental procedures (e.g., impure genetic soup solutions containing other toxins), was extended by this sleight of hand to create a casedemic which had no scientific basis whatsoever.

Btw, the bogus covid death count is made all the more blatant in being a running total of 2+ years to distract from how even its inflated numbers on an annual average remain comparable to or less than death counts from cancer and heart disease (for which there’s never been any state of emergency, etc.). And none of these come close to what is arguably the most dangerous and deadly cause, that of the medical industry itself with iatrogenesis (up to a miliion deaths annually).

The massive fraud, or psyop, of which only a very few highlights are offered you here, continues, as the CDC just removed tens of thousands of deaths ‘accidentally’ attributed to covid: https://default.salsalabs.org/T69c59854-7f2f-42ae-a360-de75b70de770/6ed6d624-35e3-403c-b944-c1c61b3a596c. But behind this presently engineered coup of covid to impose the biosecurity state lies an entire history of medical fraud and corruption with germ theory itself, which has never produced conclusive evidence of viruses as causes of disease, rather than effects (as terrain theorists have argued). And likewise influenza, associated with more than respiratory symptoms, was prior to the industrial era an infrequent occurence across populations defying any means of contagion, likely connected with sunspots (hence its name ‘influence of the stars’), only becoming a seasonal recurrence with the spread of electricity (see Arthur Firstenberg’s The Invisible Rainbow).

There’s historical myth at work here with ‘science’ as well as all things under capitalist class rule which recalls Orwell’s words “Who controls the past….” On that note, just to bring it back around to the ‘vaccine’ question, the fabled Spanish flu, to which covid was often compared, at least initially when the rigged predictions of Imperial College’s Neil Ferguson and the IHME (both Gates-funded institutions) were employed as fear factors to impose ‘temporary’ lockdowns of no scientific merit, was neither Spanish nor a flu, but the result of (post-)WW1 vaccination programs leading to severe bacterial pneumonia, as exhumed bodies and the absence of any unvaccinated ‘flu’ deaths have indicated.

  16. The Spanish flu killed 670,00 Americans – estimated.
Covid has now killed about 950,000, so far.
Health Critics complain that as a first rate nation, we vastly under performed in providing services to our peoples.
The next big virus, probably will have us debating the same issues and resulting in same problems. There is no incentive to change our ways, means, and methods.
We can not change , will not change, and unable to change.

Nature makes us the way we are—- nothing you can do about it.

    1. To Keith,
” We can not change , will not change, and unable to change.
Nature makes us the way we are—- nothing you can do about it.”

Somehow I think Nature may have another take –
If we cannot change – what is your answer – Eat, drink and be merry, for tomorrow we die? The problem is, there are an awful lot of us who cannot do the first three, though we will all do the last …

    2. @Keith Mcmaugh
Your COVID-19 death statistics are wrong and dishonest. The Spanish Flu was much more deadly than COVID-19 is. People who die WITH COVID-19 are counted as dying FROM COVID-19 — no one denies, this, and the government has openly admitted it — so a substantially fewer number of people died from it than the government is reporting. Additionally, there were far fewer people living in the U.S. 100 years ago than there are now, so even with the inflated numbers you provided, a smaller percentage of Americans died from COVID-19 than died from the Spanish flu.

I also agree with SH’s response to your comment, but I would add the following: There is no such thing as “human nature” when it comes to the types of human behaviors you’re talking about. These are conscious choices, and different groups and individuals react differently to these types of threats.

  17. The covid story is full of myths:
    – restrictions had hardly any effect. Liberal Sweden didn’t do worse than strict France and Italy. Only some East Asian countries managed to keep the virus onder control. But that was just delay as they now find the evolved virus unstoppable.
    – vaccinations don’t help. They offer some short term help but when you look at total mortality over a longer period they may very well be harmful. The policies to promote them have been more destructive to democracy than anything else since 1945.
    – the main reason the US has a rather high mortality from covid may be the well known fact that the US has a high number of people with overweight.

    1. THis is from a comic book, right, your laughing points.

Sweden is liberal? What fairy tale is that?

Oh, the DARPA-SARS-CoV2/Infinity fun. Get on with your life of lies. DARPA and Pharma and the entire Corrupt Criminal Continuing Clique Campitalism oh what a scam to the hundreth power.

Overweight? The world is full of chronic illnesses thanks to poisons in air, water, food. Thanks to ROund-up and a thousand other poisons. Microplastics, and, alas, dirty dirty air. Second and THird Hand SMoke? How about Capitalism and Consumerism and the other S— Storms generated by these evil boys and girls and LGBTQA+ like Peter Theil and CIA Company.

Look up chronic illnesses, and they are not largely tied to obesity. Look it up.

Oh, is it Zantac, too, that Pharma drug killing people?

Then, the diabetis drug, when used by daddy months before copulation causes birth defects. Dany DARPA SARS-CoV2/Infinity.

How many millions will die of tobacco use, first, second, and third hand? Yah, what a world.

Then, hmm, those countries in Africa? How many have died of “Covid19?”

Oh, USA and UkoNazis and those bioweapons labs. Darn.
