Misty K. Snow: An Historic Senate Nominee

The Utah Democratic Senate nominee, who became the first major party transgender nominee to run for the US senate, discusses her unlikely candidacy.
Robert Scheer sits down with Utah Democratic Senate nominee Misty K Snow to discuss her unlikely candidacy.

Misty K. Snow is the first major party transgender nominee to run for the US senate. She is also a member of the millennial generation and works full time in a supermarket. Snow tells Robert Scheer her experience of living paycheck to paycheck was one of the inspirations for running for Senate. Snow says she is highlighting issues of poverty and class in her campaign, not her gender. She talks about potentially being one of the few working class senators if elected, and tells Scheer why, even if Hilary Clinton wins in this year’s election, the former first lady will have an uphill battle in 2020.
