Maj. Danny Podcast Robert Scheer

Putting the Pandemic in Historical Context: Robert Scheer on ‘Fortress on the Hill’ (pt. 1)

Robert “Bob” Scheer, famed journalist, interviewer, activist, and editor, stops by the podcast to discuss his career, his interviews with American presidents from Nixon to Clinton, and his radio show / podcast Scheer Intelligence. Here is part 1 of 2.

From co-host of the “Fortress on the Hill” podcast Danny Sjursen on their most recent show:

My old editor, mentor, and friend, Robert “Bob” Scheer, the famed journalist, author, interviewer, and activist, stopped by (figuratively speaking) the podcast to discuss this pandemic moment’s meaning / consequences, his career, his interviews with global leaders from Nixon to Clinton to Castro, a touch of history, and his radio show / podcast Scheer Intelligence. He even tells some fantastic stories, to boot!

There are few figures better situated — in experience and thoughtfulness – to comment on the goings on of the republic / empire in this time.  What Bob does best is situate the present in broad context, drilling down when appropriate, but never losing sight of the wider arc or overreacting to the crisis of the moment.

This is part 1 of 2 in what was one of our best interviews yet.
